Past and Present Catholic Education in Manayunk
St. John the Baptist, St. Mary of the Assumption, St. Josaphat, and St. Lucy were all Archdiocesan Catholic Elementary schools Grades 1-8 that were open nearly a century in Manayunk, and all closed by 2006. St. John the Baptist also had a Boys and a Girls High School, both closed in 1960 and 1964, respectively. Continuing the tradition of Catholic Education is of great importance to our parishioners and the Alumni of our former schools.
PREP (formerly CCD) at St. John the Baptist
Parish Religious Education (PREP) is offered at St. John the Baptist on Sundays, and includes sacramental preparation and instruction for students K-8 during the school year. Visit our Parish Religious Education page for more details.
