Parish

A Powerful Network

With over 1,200 active parish families totaling 3,500 registered members, and an additional 3,000 Alumni, our parish is a vibrant Roman Catholic community rich in faith and history, 190 years young. We welcome those here for the present, and those who here for years to come.  It is a blessing to walk with the community through family support, reception of the sacraments, youth religious education, young adult spirituality, senior care, visits to the sick, and comfort to those who care for us.

In 2012, the parishes of St. John the Baptist, St. Josaphat, and St. Mary of the Assumption merged as a result of the Philadelphia Archdiocesan Pastoral Planning Initiative.  St. John the Baptist Church located at 119 Rector Street is the primary worship site; weekend Masses, Holy Day and Special Liturgical Celebrations are held here including weddings and funerals.

With the combining of our three parishes, the richness of our history and dedicated parishioners have been brought together by the one true commonality:  Catholic Faith and Love in Jesus Christ.  We look toward the future of our Manayunk Catholic Parish.
