Baptism for older children and adults

Baptism and Initation as Catholics

For Children around/over age 7 and under the age of 18:

If you would like more information on Baptism for an older child (over 7 years of age), please contact Eileen Litka, Director of Religious Education at St. John the Baptist.  Eileen may be reached at dre@stjohnmanayunk.org, or by calling 215.482.4600 x 107.

When a child has not been baptized as an infant, they will begin sacramental preparation and after consulting with the parents/priest and preparation is complete, the sacrament will be scheduled.  This will begin the child on the path of Initiation as Catholics.  Parents of children that are entering first grade that have not yet been baptized should reach out before the school year begins.

For Adults over the age of 18, interested in Baptism and finding out more about the Catholic Faith, click here, or contact Adult Faith Formation Director, Kristi Bushner, at faith@stjohnmanayunk.org

You may also as well, speak to the priest presiding after the Mass, or any of the parish staff, by calling 215.482.4600, who will get you in touch with the right person on the Faith Formation Team at St. John the Baptist.
